  1. The scales are shaped differently between the two types. A rough-scaled green snake's scales will be ridged or slightly raised, creating a rougher feel than if the snake's scales were flat.. A smooth-scaled green snake's scales lie flat and are significantly smoother to the touch.

  2. They are different from area's they come from, also feel, However they are very very hard to keep in captivity . Very prone to parasites

  3. Rough green snakes have keeled scales and smooth green snakes have smooth scales. Keeled scales have a ride going down the middle of the scales. Most snakes have smooth scales, but some such as vipers, including rattlesnakes, as well as bullsnakes and gopher snakes, have keeled scales. And rough green snakes grow longer than smooth green snakes and are generally more common.
