What is the difference between a shortstop glove and a second baseman glove?

  2. There isn't much of a difference, only that a second baseman's glove is usually a bit smaller and fatter around the net, to stop balls, while a shortstop's glove is a bit longer to catch the ball rather than just stopping it!

  3. the SS glove usually plays between second and third (unless there is some sort of shift on, like when giambi hits), and the 2B glove is between first and second (again, unless there is a shift and then the 2B glove plays in short right).

    Both gloves kinda look alike, somewhat smaller than OF gloves, due to the need to be able to better turn double plays.

  4. actually they usually have the same glove...there may be a little difference in the size of the catching web but i don't think so
