What is the difference between a showmanship class and a western showmanship class?

  1. Well....an english showmanship class is judged based on how the rider, dressed in english attire,  presents the horse in an english bridle. The horse should preform the pattern in english gates (Think big, sweeping trot, foreward walk...ect.)

    A western showmanship class is judged based on how the rider, dressed in western clothing, presents the horse in a western headstall. The horse should preform the pattern in western gates (very relaxed jog and walk)

    so in the end they are pretty much the same thing, just different tack and apparel.
