What is the difference between a sing of Zodiac and a constellation?

The ecliptic is the apparent path that the Sun follows in the sky during the year as the Earth rotates arounf the Sun.  A constellation (group of  stars) is said to be a zodiac constellation if the ecliptic passes through a portion of its stars.  Otherwise, the group is just a constellation.

There are twelve zodiac constellations:  Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus, Aquarius, and Pisces.

In Western Astrology, each zodiac sign takes up exactly 30 degrees of the ecliptic (basically the path taken in the sky by the sun, moon and planets), whereas the constellations they are named after are a lot more irregular regarding the space they take up in the sky.

Furthermore, due to the phenomenon known as the Procession of the Equinoxes (Google this), the twelve zodiac signs now occupy a completely different part of the sky compared to their counterpart constellations.

The sky is divided into 88 star groups or constellations by International astronomical Union. The astrologers consider the 12  constellations that lies in the zodiac a belt of 18degrees both sides of the ecliptic

(Imaginary line in which sun travels) They are Aries,Taurus,Gemini etc.

Normally all the plantes(In astrology) are visible inside the zodiac.

In fact, many times planets come out from it and goes to Ophucuss a 13th Constellaion?!!!!

The signs of the Zodiac are twelve constellations that have been given special meaning with concern to fortune telling and other mythology.

Basically, all zodiacs are constellations but not all constellations are zodiacs.
