Question:

What is the difference between a size 9 and 9.5 on snowboard boots? Is it just the liner or the shell too?

I recently bought a set of DC Graphix Boa snowboard boots. They're sick. But the size 9 is a tiny bit small, being uncomfortable. I normally wear 10 in regular shoes.

My question is, the difference on 9 and 9.5. Is that a different size liner only and the same size shell? Or is the liner and shell larger on 9.5?

Should I go to 10? On 9s my feet goes numb after wearing them for half an hour.

  1. Go for the 10s. Whats the poitn of having them if they are unconfortable. If they are unconfortable and you try to snowboard, chances are you wasted your money, your gonna go back to the lodge, or your gonna wipe out doing tricks. I have a size 9.5 shoes but i wear 9s and they are perfect. Snowboard instructers do say wear a size lower then your shoe size and 9.0 is too small for a size 10 feet for yours.

  2. If you wear a 10 regularly, a 9.5 should be perfect for boots. Your boots should feel pretty snug. Too much room and your heels will lift when you turn toeside. I try to make sure my toes touch the ends of my boots when they are new, because the liners will pack out. But if your feet are numb, they are too small. And if you're uncomfortable, you just aren't going to have too much fun. I'd sell them on Ebay and pick up a 9.5.
