  1. Spore is diploid means contains 2n number of chromosomes while gamete is haploid contains only half the number of chromosomes. In ferns, mosses and algae (lower class of plants these spores and gametes are observed.  In primitve plants the gametophyte phase is dominant over the sporophyte phase (eg. Algae, fungi, bryophytes). In Pteridophytes, gymnosperms and angiopserms the sporophytic phase is dominant.  Sporophyte is produced by the gemination of the spore. Gametophyte is produced by the male or female gamete.

  2. The difference between a spore and a gamete is:

The gamete is male or female, and needs a gamete male and a gamete female to reproduce.

The spore only needs his-self to grow as a plantae (or mushrom)

The difference between a gamete and a spore :

    - a gamete can be either a gamete male, or a gamete female. And to become a Plantae, both are needed,

    - a spore isn't male or female, that's why, he only needs his-self to become a plantae (or a mushrom)

  3. Wow....it's been a long time since biology. I think that a spore is a completed cell....like a seed. It just has to grow. A gamete is only half a cell, so it needs the male/female/other half to grow.

  4. In common parlance, the difference between "spore" and "gamete" (both together called gonites) is that a spore will germinate and develop into a sporeling, while a gamete needs to combine with another gamete before developing further. However, the terms are somewhat interchangeable when referring to gametes.

  5. a spore is release from certain  plants and fungi.  basically, it is released so it can form into another organism.  a gamete is haploid...that means that the gamete only has one set of genetic information.  the gamete will combine with its partners gamete, and form a zygote (fertilized organism)

    hope that helps :)

  6. a spore contains all the genetic information to create a new organism, a gamete contains only half.
