What is the difference between a sporty-girl and a tomboy?

Sporty girls are into athletic things but are still able to clean up well and be girly. The sportiness is just an extension of her personality.

A tom-boy is very masculine (doesn't necessarily mean they don't like boys-- most young girls are tom-boys). They sometimes don't even play sports. But it makes them more comfortable to dress and act like a boy or in a masculine way.

a sporty girl is probably just into some type of sports but probably still has a sense of girliness to her.. a tomboy is into everything that boys are into and most likely she likes to hang and feel like she is one of the boys..

A sporty-girl can be a girl that wears girl clothes and talks about girl stuff but still likes sports, a tomboy does not have to like sports, she just wears boy clothes and does a lot of boy things.
