    One is French and the other is English


  2. In the UK it's Theatre, in the US it's theater, same thing, alternative spelling. Like colour and color, centre and center.

  5. Spelling.  One is from European English and one is from American English.

    They mean the same thing, otherwise.

    It's similar to words like color=colour, authorized=authorised, maneuver=manoeuvre, and so on.
