What is the difference between a warranty and a guarantee?

They use both terms in my end user license agreement and I don't understand it.

  1. A warantee is an insurance product purchased form a company other than the manufacturer of the product concerned.  A guaranty is an agreement from the manufacturer to rectify or replace an iten found faulty in a specified period
