  1. Dilute acid is a concentration measure by its molarity.  A weak/strong acid is based on how much it dissociates (breaks apart into hydrogen ions and the other stuff).

    as an example in theory both a dilute strong acid and a weak acid could corrode a limestone block (CaCO3) at the same rate.


  2. A strong acid completely dissociates while a weak acid only partially dissociates.
