  1. The difference is that there is a difference between an account and a service. Yahoo accounts are what allow you to use Yahoo services (like Yahoo! 360 beta and Yahoo! Answers).

So, you have a Yahoo account if you are asking questions on Y/A. You can use that Yahoo ID (the part to the left the @ sign for the e-mail address) to access many free services. If you want to use 360 - a free social networking service that features a blog, then you have to activate it for that Yahoo ID.

Go to http://360.yahoo.com . Click the yellow "Get Started" button on that page. Go through the sign up and sign in process. To enter your 360 space, click the "Yahoo! 360 Home" in the upper right corner of that or the main 360 page.

For more information, see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/ . To see examples of 360 spaces, see http://360.yahoo.com/search.html . Sometimes clicking on an avatar in Y/A, will lead you to a Y/A profile that includes a link to a 360 space.
