  1. There is no difference.  It just depends on when the department was founded, because accountancy is kind of an old-fashioned word for accounting.  You get the same types of jobs graduating from either type of department.


  2. They are the same. jobs include corpaorte accountant, auditors, cost accountants, financial analysts, budget analyst, government auditors, IRS, SEC and other government agencies. Lots of jobs and not a lot of qulaified applicants. It is a highly in demand majr if you are good at accounting.

    With an accounting major you can get a job as an accountant.
