I was just wondering. ( I know that interstates go though more than one state, but sometimes highways do too.)

  1. I dont know.. iterstate goes farther

  2. Interstates are larger stretches of highway with often times 3 lanes or more(north and southbound) to allow for more traffic and stretch over various states or one state, depending on the size of the state.

U.S. Highways are smaller pieces of highway that normally four lanes, north and southbound, and were America's first real interstate systems. They often can be windy, especially through mountains and valleys.

Interstates are also straighter than U.S. highways and are supposed to be quicker.

  3. What Chevy said. Also, highways may have traffic lights or other sorts of controlled intersections and potentially low speed limits. Interstates, having the intention of getting you somewhere as quickly as possible, do not have either of these features.
