  1. Liquid-crystal display televisions (LCD TV) are televisions that use LCD technology to produce an image. The technology used is generally TFT, because this allows for reduced size, especially depth reduction. Benefits also include lower weight and reduced energy consumption

A plasma display panel (PDP) is a type of flat panel display, which are made of  many tiny cells located between two panels of glass that hold an inert mixture of noble gases (neon and xenon). The gas in the cells is electrically turned into a plasma which then excites phosphors to emit light

OLED TV (roll up tv) also known as led technology, is a developing technology, in which a television screen or computer display is modified to display on a paper thin surface that can be rolled up and stored. The display uses organic LED (OLED) technology, which is highly energy efficient without sacrificing image quality. The electroluminescent and photoconductive properties of the thin film of organic chemicals a fraction of an inch thick, turn an electronic signal into a television picture

And you also forgot DLP Tv (Digital Light Processing) owned by Texas Instruments, representing a technology used in projectors and video projectors, front projectors (small standalone projection units). which are the current display technologies behind rear-projection television, These rear-projection technologies compete against LCD and Plasma flat panel displays in the HDTV market.  Also DLP is one of the leading technologies used in digital cinema projection

Hope this helps out some., I think the best are DLP or LCD, I'm always worried that the plasma will have the image burn that people talk about,, and also the LED is not available in the consumer market yet. But could be awesome in a few years

  3. I'm not that sure all I know is that LCD is Liquid crystal display and most of them are usually smaller then Plasmas. Plasmas are usually Bigger and there for more expensive there good but, have a bad reputation of getting Phosphor burn-in which means that if u have a certain image on the T.V for long enough it will burn into the screen but, this usually doesn't happen on newer T.V's. And for LED T.V's you got it confused it's O.L.E.D T.V and there's not very many that I know of but of the one i do Know is that it's only 11 inches and I don't think you want a tiny 11 inch T.V. If you want to find out more then I would go to your local Best Buy or Circuit City and ask someone there about the subject.

  4. LCD (Liquid Cristal Display) is the new technology, it has a 20 years life expectancy, HD ready, also it looks better, but it is more expensive.

Plasma is an old technology based on using a light reflecting gas, has a lower life expectancy, it has a lower display quality but it is cheaper than LCD.

My personal choice was SONY bravia 46”.
