  1. I can't suggest an artist, but an electric/acoustic in MY case is a cello that has an electric pickup installed in it.  This makes it a normal acoustic instrument that can also be directly hooked up to an amp without a microphone.  Cost me about 120 buck for the pickup.

  2. ok, well an acoustic guitar you cant plug in....and a acoustic electric guitar, you can plug it in, theres also (usually) a tuner inside, where you just press a couple buttons, and ajust the strings w/your hand.

if your looking at having one guitar I would go w/a plain acoustic, but if your looking at a second guitar and already have an accoustic, I would go for a electric one.

    good luck

    :)

  3. An acoustic/electric has an electric pick up in it so you can plug it into an amp to make it louder. An acoustic does not have a pick up and you cannot plug it in. Any artist that plays songs with acoustic guitar in them would play one because they would need it to be loud enough for concerts and stuff.

  4. acoustic is not able 2 be hooked up 2 an amp

  5. Well it's pretty straight forward. Let's use the ovation guitar company for example. They have both acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. The acoustic guitars ar just made regularly like every other acoustic.  But the acoustic-electric is usually built with a pre-amp and or a pick-up Inside the guitar so you can play with an amp
