  1. eloping is sorta sneaking off to get married to avoid all the hassle and drama (and expense) of a regular wedding.  my sister in law eloped... her and her hubby were stressed about how many of his family to invite etc so they extended their honeymoon in rarotonga with the money they saved on not feeding our husbands thousands of relatives and had a ceremony on the beach over there

  2. Hi.  When you elope you DO get married, however, it is in "secret."  Meaning, the two of you go away somewhere (or stay at home!) and then get married by a minister or judge.  Then you announce to your family and friends..."guess what?  we are married."  Typically, this announcement involves lots of hurt feelings as most family and friends feel cheated out of your celebration.

A "regular" wedding can be anything.  You can get married in a church, at a beach, at someone's home, at a park, etc.  But....the difference is....family and friends are invited and you have a reception after!

Hope this clears up things for you!

  3. I'm not really sure, but I think the difference is that an elopment is when you get married without the parents' or other people's knowledge, or you run away to get married.

  4. When you Elope you typically have a tiny wedding, out of your home town with one or two people, no reception, no dress, no limo. Basically it is a "no frills" type of thing.

You can buy elopment packages these days which offer a little more, like transportation, a bouquet for the bride ect.

And of course Wedding is all the frills and thrills of family and friends at the ceremony and reception.

  5. eloping is when you just go off and get married just the 2 of you and you don't tell anyone you're doing it

  6. Eloping is when you and your sweeite go get married without a big ceremony, guests, reception, fanfare, etc. You may or may not even have a friend or two present (ya might have to borrow witnesses).

A regular wedding has all the planning and frou frou.

Either way you are married when it's over..

  7. There is no difference apart from the absence of your family and friends during the actual wedding ceremony when a person  elope they usually run off to marry without parent knowledge or consent  then they only need a witness...
