  1. In my experience - about $700. The engagement ring was more. Darn diamonds.

  2.   The $$ it leaves the man out of.  Wedding rings are the killer.

  3. An engagement ring is given at the proposal. A wedding ring, or band, is given at the ceremony.

  4. Seriously? An engagement ring is worn before marriage, during the time of engagement/proposal. A wedding ring is given when married and to be worn for the rest of the marriage.

  5. Only what one makes it.

A friend of mine joked about how an engagement friend is a "warm-up ring". lol

If a person can afford to go the extra mile and buy two; go for it! However, a ring doesn't a marriage make. In other words, it's a nicety, not necessarily a necessity.

  6. The engagement ring is what you get at the time you are engaged, it usually had the largest diamond on it.

When you get married, most people add a band to the engagement ring, some have a separate ring.  Some wedding sets come with the engagement ring and wedding band.  The band is usually simpler than the engagement ring, but usually adds to the beauty.  Sometimes couples just buy a matching band to go with the ring.

Most women wear the wedding band and engagement ring together after they are married.  You can take them to the Jewelry store and they will solder the two pieces together.
