I know which plants are which, but I was wondering how they get classified in different groups. Can something be both an herb and a vegetable at the same time?

  1. A Herb is a plant with seeds, leaves or flowers used for food, flavouring or medicine and perfume .

A vegetable is a plant or part of a plant used for food, usually a compliment to meat .

So I guess the difference is that a vegetable is only used for food, and a herb has many uses .
