What is the difference between an order of protection and a restraining order.?

I am getting ready to kick my boyfriend out of my house and i know that he will flip out because of the previous desputes that we have had. I want to be able to keep him from having any contact from me and my kids weather at work or home.

There is not any real difference, the jurisdiction you live in may call it by one name or the other but they both have the same stipulations and the same amount of force.~
