  1. A crew cut is a certain blade on top (usually #1 or #2) with a blade 1 size smaller on the back and sides (for example, a 2 on top and 1 on sides, 1 on top and 0 on sides) with some of it on top to spike up.

    A flat top is the same blade formula, but all of the hair is spiked up and it is in a horizontal line.
