What is the difference between animal feed bran and bran that humans eat?

The level of refinement in the processing, the purity.

I don't know of a lot of animals eating bran, however.

There both right, the animal based one would not be as refined and it would have more chaff and other degenerated products in it.

The bran from humans is a bran coating off the processed wheat kernel, I am a former chef and have used it and still do for granola, muffins, as a food binder in veggie burgers and faux meatballs even in breading for eggplant parmesan dishes.
