  1. Anthropology is the study of people.  This can be broken down into many subfields, but the main ones include cultural anthropology (the study of human culture), physical anthropology (the study of the physical aspects of humans like evolutionary processes and forensics), linguistics (the study of human language), and archaeology (the study of past cultures).

Paleontology is actually a subfield of geology.  Geology is the study of the Earth (physically--the Rock we call Earth).  So, its subfields include mineralogy (study of minerals), sedimentalogy (parts of the Earth created by processes beyond volcanos), volcanology (study of volcanos and their processes and products), seismology (study of earthquakes and related topics), petroleum geology (this is in the oil industry), paleontology (the study of fossils, which essentially are rocks, eviromental geology, geophysics, and geochemistry more.

So, I hope I have answered your question rather thoroughly.  Anthropology is the study of people and can be broken down into subfields.  Whereas, paleontology is the study of fossils and is a subfield of the larger topic of Geology which is the study of our physical Earth.  Also, to clear up any confusion about fossils and why it is a geologic science I want to say what fossils are.  There are two kinds.  The trace fossil is like a footprint left in the sand, mud, or other median that is later hardened into stone over time and forever preserved.  Other fossils are forms by the bone being barried in a median.  As the median around the bone hardens, the bone is also decaying leaving a cavity of sorts in which other minerals then seep into and replace the bone.  This material is different than the median, but still hardens into stone, thus leaving a fossil.

  2. Paleontology is the study of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. Anthropology deals with the subject of humanity which includes our origin, the differences and similarities between various cultures and so on.
