  1. Asiatic lilies are the backbone of the lily garden. Offering as many as 12 blooms per bulb, these hardy lilies are among the easiest bulbs to grow.  Asiatic lilies make a wonderful cut flower as they have no scent. Asiatics prefer full sun to light shade and will tolerate some lime in the soil. They reach a height between 36 - 50"and are hardy to Zone 2

Oriental lilies.  The unforgettable fragrance of these lilies is their most notable feature. Blossoms of Orientals are large and exotic. Oriental lilies like a slightly acidic soil and prefer full sun. They are heavy feeders and will benefit from applications of a light fertilizer (10-10-10) as they begin to bloom and right after the blooms have faded. Mulch in winter. Late July-August blooms will reach a height of between 20 - 55" . Zone 5.
