What is the difference between beachfront certification and lifegaurd certification?

If a lifegaurding job says that it requires a beachfront certification is that anything different then a regulal redcross lifegaurd certification?

Yes, the basic Lifeguard Certification from the Red Cross or Ellis & Associates does not cover Waterfront or Beachfront Lifeguarding.  The American Lifeguard Association www.americanlifeguard.com  is one organization that provides the kind of certification you would need.  The Red Cross also provides Waterpark and Waterfront Lifeguarding additions to its regular courses, but these are sometimes hard to find.  Call the place that is offering the Beachfront Lifeguard job, it is quite likely that they know where you can get the required training.
