I wanted to buy new wedges and tried the chrome and loved it but couldn't find one the right style in chrome. I found a lot in black pearl and wanted to know the difference.

  1. ones black and ones  chrome

  2. The additional difference is that black, copper,  gray, etc., wedges will show wear almost from the first strike of the ball.  the finish will wear over time and that has both a positive and negative to it.

Negative is purely aesthetic - they will not look brand new.

Positive is that you will see where you strike your ball, and can adjust your set up, swing, etc., if needed based on the strike pattern.

  3. The difference is the finish of the club.  Black pearl is different than chrome.  The performance is their in either club.  Cleveland began as a wedge company.  The guy that designed for Cleveland(Roger Cleveland) now designs Callaway wedges.  So they know wedges.

  4. The only difference in the two clubs is the color of the club. Many people don't like chrome wedges because sunlight make reflect from the club and distract golfers at the address. Mostly it is a matter of preference. While you are looking at wedges you might want to check Ebay for a Nike SV Tour. I recently purchased a sand wedge for $30 shipped on Ebay . My roommate just bought the cleveland wedge you're considering for $90 shipped on Ebay .  I've tried both and see very little difference in the two besides the price tag.
