  2. There are many meanings for blanch and porch and I do not in what respect you ask the difference. However I have given the most common meanings and the difference can be guessed

Blanch means to whiten by removing color; bleach: Workers were blanching linen in the sun.

Porch means an exterior appendage to a building, forming a covered approach or vestibule to a doorway.

  3. Blanching is immersing an object for a very short time in boiling water, usually to loosen the skin, or for preservation.

'Porching' (Poaching is the correct term) is cooking an object in water at a temperature just below boiling point.

  4. porch is par boiled and blanch is used to boil soft vegetablelike spinach, tomato, cabbage etc .

  5. Blanch: Is a short, usually about 3 minutes to stop a food enzymatic process.

Poach: Is cooking in liquid till done

  6. first off, i think you mean "parch".

to blanch something means bringing water to a boil and dipping something in it for awhile to kind of "shock it".

parching something, is like putting something in an oven and shocking it with no moisture.

example:  you blanch vegetables before freezing them.  and you would parch something like peanuts for consumption.  (like not quite roasted, only parched)

  7. BLANCH :just dip aveg in boiling water & take it out in a second.

PORCH: cook veg in water till done.
