What is the difference between bucket seats and racing seats?

What is the difference between bucket seats and racing seats? and advantages/disadvantages for each. are they worth it? how much would they cost? do you have to get custom rails?

  1. Racing seats are a reinforced seat made to take an impact.  They are reinforced with different metals depending on what type of seat you buy. they are also made to take different harnesses when it comes to seat belts and yes they arent the cheapest thing out there.  Yes alot of times they will need custom rails and if you are racing then they arent worth it.


  2. a bucket seat is very cheap - just turn a flower pot over - a racing seat - very rare to come by and assumingly very expencive, but if it wins the race you might make a fortune. lol

  3. A bucket seat is just a single person car seat. A racing seat is designed and engineered for the rigors of racing. Prices vary for each depending on type and features.  

  4. Bucket seats are just production seats without any reinforcement that racing requires. True racing seats are made to withstand crashes, give extra support to the neck and back, and accomodate the five point racing seatbelts you see on race cars.
