  1. r is recordable and rw is rewriteable


  2. cd-r are recordable but only once.

    cd-rw are recordable as many times.

    r - means read.

    rw - means read / write.


  3. CD-R, Record once.. CD-RW, Record many times.

  4. CD-R is write once media.(erase it and original data is lost)

    CD-RW is rewrittable media (erase and rewrite or add data sequentially without losing originally written data)

  5. cd-r is recordable only. you can only write to it once.

    cd-rw is rewritable, you can use it like a floppy disk, write to it, delete it, write to it again.
