they are just different terms for the same game it was originally draughts but then people started saying checkers because of the checker effect board i still call it draughts hope this answered  your question

It's the same game.  In the UK it is called draughts and in Canada and the USA it is called checkers.

Same game, different name. In US is called Checkers, in UK is called draughts. Both are just exactly the same game except the name is very different.
