  1. As a former chef, I respected a complaint and comment if they were helpful, if something tasted funny or had a bad smell then I wanted to know, you have to be honest, if the service is bad and you feel you dining experience was totally off, then there to it is right to say something.

I had someone complain 3 hours after leaving my restaurant they had be served bad food and had food poisoning and were going to call the health department and report the restaurant, upon looking at the bill they had 2 drinks each, meals, 1 bottle of wine and liquored coffee for dessert, they were intoxicated not sick, so if the issue is something that you feel is necessary to bring up, then it can be both but be constructive.

  2. When they ask for comments, they're hoping to hear good stuff.  They're also wanting to know what's wrong so they can fix it for you!  If a lot of people complain about wanting smaller portion sizes, maybe the restaurant will notice and offer smaller portions as an alternative.  If you have a bad experience, most of the time they'll fix it in some way- especially if your'e nice when you complain.  Ex - "The menu and waitress didn't mention that the mushroom sauce had chicken-stuff in it, but i don't eat that.  Can i get osmething else?"  Especially if the waitress assumed you knew and wasn't trying to be rude to you.  If you're nice and ask for an alternative, you usually getit if it's reasonable.

  3. No difference if you send it back then don't eat the next plate they bring you....

  4. if u go to them is a complain ...

if they ask u for a feedback is a comment ..

  5. well its complaining when your whining about it. But if you NICELY point it out, they'll listen to you. Trust me. I work in a restaurant.

  6. Complaint on a comment card means the person who designed it sees the glass half empty

Comment on a comment card means the person who designed it sees the glass as half full
