  2. A Computer Program would be like an application. Think Microsoft Word or Mozilla Firefox.

    A Computer System would be like a tower or mainframe. Even a server.

    To further break it down - A program is a single item, i.e. application. A system would be a group of components such as a monitor, motherboard, video card, etc.
