There really is no difference between plate tectonics and continental drift.  Plate tectonics means plate movement or building.  Continental drift means the movement of continents because of the movement of the plates they sit on.  Plate tectonics is considered a fact and why they still call continental drift a theory is beyond me.  There is enough evidence that support the theory.
