What is the difference between cookies and biscuit?

A few thousand miles.... What we call cookies in the states are called biscuits in Austrailia, and I think the UK as well. Exactly the same thing but different names.

Both are the same. But in US its called cookies and in india we call it biscuit.

In American, a cookie is totally different from a biscuit. A cookie here is sweet more in the classification of a dessert. A biscuit is like a bread.
