What is the difference between cream and milk?

I have this question on my paper saying, :What is the difference between cream and milk?" I cant find it on the internet.

  1. well if you shake cream for a good 10 mins nonstop it will turn into butter. milk cant do that.


  2. Cream is much much thicker then milk.

  3. the answer is milk fat content.  Whole milk must contain at least 4% milk fat by volume.  Cream will contain 32% or more milk fat by volume.

  4. Milk as it comes from the animal has a certain butterfat content. Roughly 3-4% from goats and cows.

    In cows milk,the cream, which has a high percentage of butterfat, separates easily from the milk as it is lighter. This is the cream rising to the top.

    There are legal terms as to what is cream, heavy cream, light cream, etc, but it is basically the high butterfat portion in the milk.
