  1. Criminology marks the felonies and faults of the society

Sociology marks and follows  the social trends as consumption, education, politics, arts, technology, demography.

  2. Both are in the social sciences and have multiple paradigms from which they can be viewed.  I think the primary difference is that many sociological theories look at how SOCIETY causes crime and criminological theories look at how the INDIVIDUAL resorted to crime.  Another big distinction is that MANY sociologists believe that there is NO such thing as free will....this conflicts with the majority of criminological theory.

Sociology is the study of human social behavior and human association and results of social activity (study of group interaction, culture, etc. and all that they entail).

Criminology is the study of crime as an individual and social phenomenon and is often viewed in context of social institutions. Criminologists study crime as well as its causes and consequences.

  3. one is the study of criminal activity and how it is dealt with by the law & the other is the study and classification of human societies
