  1. Well this is what i think. typhoon, is merely a hard out strong wind, up to 100mph, or more. and cyclone,/ hurricane, i thought they are just, a weaker version of a tornado, just different names. although i like the sound of, hurricane, hurricane, hurricane, hehehe. :)

  2. They are all the same, the difference is the oceans they are in.

  3. They are the same thing.  The only difference is the location on where they occur.  A hurricane forms in the Atlantic and east Pacific, and is the kind that hits the US.  Typhoons forms in west Pacific, and hits southeast Asia like China and Japan.  A cyclone forms in the Indian ocean and hits south Asia such as India.

  4. A cyclone is an atmospheric system characterised by the rapid inward circulation of air masses about a low-pressure centre, usually accompanied by stormy, often destructive weather. Cyclones circulate counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.

The terms "hurricane" and "typhoon" are regionally specific names for a strong "tropical cyclone". A tropical cyclone is the generic term for a non-frontal synoptic scale low-pressure system over tropical or sub-tropical waters with organized convection (i.e. thunderstorm activity) and definite cyclonic surface wind circulation
