  1. The main difference is there's MORE cytoplasm in animal cells than in plant cells. This is because the cytoplasm is where many metabolic reactions take place.  The animal cell, is more complex, thus requiring a higher number of metabolic reactions.  To do this, life has evolved such that animal cells have a larger amount of cytoplasm, than have plant cells, which are a much simpler (on the evolution tree) form of life.  You got it?
