What is the difference between different downloads such as direct, bit torrent and mirror?

I want to download a program and it gives me three options. It has a direct download, a bit torrent download and a mirror download. I am not sure which to pick.

If you dont know Bittorrent, dont use it.  Use either direct or mirror.  Direct means it is hosted (offered) by the author, mirrored means that another site is hosting it.  Sometimes adirect download is hampered by bandwidth limitations, so a mirror offering is better, as mirror sites have the allowance for multiple or faster downloads.  You may have to look at some advertising at a mirror site.

A Direct download is well, Directly from the site you got it from.

A Mirror is the same file except from another source. This can help if the Direct download doesnt work.

Bit Torrent is a Torrent Client. I think what you mean is Torrent downloads.

These need a Client like Bit Torrent to download. You download pieces of it and it puts it together.
