It really depends on your state's laws.  In general domestic violence can be verbal threats, threats with a weapon, battery, assault, it covers the full spectrum of violence among family members by blood or association.  Domestic battery is just that battery on a person for which a domestic relationship is established.


  2. to strike someone is to commit battery; battery is violence.  the two terms are often used interchangeably.

  3. Just depends what state your in. Each state has a different definition for every offense In Texas its domestic violence which is physical violence against a family member wife, husband girl, boyfriend and not domestic battery.

  4. domestic violence can be threatening the other person, name calling ect. domestic battery is the physical battery of the other person in the relationship. For  the violence or battery to be domestic it has to of occured between two people in a relationship or child and a family member.
