  1. A "dvd screener" is an actual dvd that is sent out to people chosen by the film industry to vote on or to rate a particular movie. This is usually done before a film is presented to the public, or when a film is being promoted during "award season"

A "cam" is referring to a film that has been recorded by way of a camcorder that has been snuck into a theatre, then distributed online or on bootleg dvd's.

As for "dvd rip". This term refers to a burned copy of a film, the original source being a dvd, such as a burned copy of a dvd screener...

I think this is what you were looking for...

  2. If by a "DVD screener" you mean a "player", that is what it does - plays the VOB encoded files on the DVD so you can see them - either on your computer or in a traditional DVD player.

If by a "DVD cam" you mean a "camcorder" that uses DVDs as recording media - which compresses a lot and provides the worst available video quality for editing...

and if by "dvd rip" you mean an application like HandBrake that can decode the VOB files on the DVD so other video editing applications can use that video...

then what exactly is it you want to know about these three different - but related items?
