What is the difference between endoplasmic recticulum and cytoplasm in an animal cell?

I am homeschooled and I dont have a teacher, in the diagram in my science book, it seems to be pointing at the exact same thing for cytoplasm and endoplasmic recticulum, so I want to know what is the difference, does the endoplasmic recticulum float in the cytoplasm
