  1. High Fantasy, also called Epic fantasy, is set parallel worlds invented by the author. Fantasy is simply a genre that uses magic or supernatural forces in the plot.


  2. High fantasy is set in a well-developed parallel world invented by the author and deals seriously with sweeping themes, particularly the struggle between good and evil. For example, "The Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkien is an example of high fantasy, while Patricia C. Wrede's "Dealing with Dragons" would be an example of "low" fantasy.
