  1. This is as simple as I can put it (both answers could become long and complicated). The idea of fate is that somethings (or everything) that happens to you is predetermined, it can not be changed, it is going to happen. Who or what or how it is determined is another question.

The idea of free will is that nothing in your future is concrete and you are responsible for your own actions and that the future is always in flux.

  2. Personally i don't believe in fate, because everyone has a choice, sometime it may seem like you don't, but you always have a choice, your life isn't set for you by someone else, the actions you take set your like for the future and only you can change your life.

  3. I wonder if this'll answer your Q:

"A Muslim must believe in Divine Decree or destiny — qadar in Arabic. The concept of  qadar used in the Qur’an means a measure or the latent possibilities with which Allah (God) created human beings and all things of nature. When Allah created each thing, He determined when it would come into existence and when it would cease to exist. He also determined its qualities and nature. And everything in the universe, the seen and the unseen, is completely subject to the overriding power of Allah. Nothing can happen outside His Will.

As for human beings, they are not completely masters of their fates, nor are they puppets subject to the hazards of destiny. Allah gave humans limited power and great freedom, including the freedom of choice. That autonomy makes each individual accountable for his or her deeds."

  4. Allow that we hold that one's religion or path matters not, for when truth is spoken, however great or small, its light and sound reverberates through all creation, finished and unfinished.

And no better explanation could I chance in this wise than that of what 'Wasting" above just spoke to regarding fate and free will.

  5. Fate is the collection of past, present, future......

    From

    All

    Thoughts

    Everywhere.

Free will is our Power to Choose......Lovingly and Wisely.

  6. We create our own fate by the free will decisions that we make. As Christ said,"as a man thinks, so is he". Our thoughts precede our actions. We sometimes act without adequate or faulty thought which creates an undesirable fate or result.

  7. Fate means that we don't have a choice, and everything is already marked out for us.  Free will means that we all have a choice.
