  1. filtration- he act or process of filtering; the mechanical separation of a liquid from the undissolved particles floating in it.

    diffusion- Movement of a fluid from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Diffusion is a result of the kinetic properties of particles of matter. The particles will mix until they are evenly distributed.


  2. The simple answer to me would be filtration removes something by stopping it from passing through while letting other other things (such as water) pass and diffusion adds something by movement of something into another medium or location and this can be through a membrane.
