  1. geology is the study of rocks and geography is the study of location as it relates to the earty. geologists can work in the industries ranging from gemstones to quarries or even archaeology while geographers can work in industries such as plate techtonics.

  2. over and under

  3. One you study mud the other you study what lives on and or around that mud.

They would both make boring careers.

  4. Geology: You will most likely have a BS, which is desirable. You can pick from a wide range of careers from mining metals, aggregates, environmental, urban development, transportation, geological surveys, etc. The demand for geologists right now is high.

Geography: You will get a BA which is less desirable. You can sort of work in the same areas, but in different capacities, and for less money. You must like making and reading maps.

**Plate tectonics is not an industry. Its a geological paradigm.

  5. Geology is the study of the Earth, as in the physical composition; rocks, volcanoes, mountains, plate tectonics, etc.

GeoGRAPHy (note the "graph") is the study of locations on the Earth.

In geology, you would study the things listed above.

In geography, you'd likely study different countries and continents and their cultures, and especially locations.
