What is the difference between hacking and cracking?

What is the difference between hacking and cracking?

Hacking = improving, making better

Cracking= braking into something, making worse

Unfortunately many people thing hacking  mean or is the same as cracking but they are so wrong.

A hacker invades a computer's system with the intent of doing harm (stealing files and passwords and such) while a cracker is someone who breaks into a computer's system just to look around and see what is on it but does no harm.
