  1. Hades is the equivalent of h**l, and shades are the equivalent of Ghosts. Eureka!

  2. Big difference. Hades (also known as Pluto) is the king of the underworld in Greek mythology. He is one of the three brothers who were born to Kronos (time) and Gaia (mother earth). The other two were Zeus (or Jupiter), who took the Heaven, and Neptune (or Poseidon) who took the Seas. Over the human race, all three agreed to have equal control.

A Shade is an inhabitant of Hades' kingdom. It's mentioned in several places in books touching Greek mythology, the best known being the Odyssey, by Home. A Shade is a mere memory, a living shadow who possesses untold sorrow and repenting.
