  1. GOODkyle is actually wrong,

for gaming consoles PS3 has a blu ray player and XBOX 360 has an HD DVD player, ultimately a blu ray disc is the way to go, not only because it has a slightly better picture but pretty soon your not going to find any movies on HD DVD because all of the major film studio companies are signing exclusively with blu ray such as; Warner Brothers, Universal, Fox 21 etc.

It's kinda like the beta max vs. the VCR

the blu ray has won, its in your best interest to go with them.

and may i suggest just buying a PS3? Its only $400 now and last I checked a blu ray player is only $50 cheaper.

HD DVD's do not work on PS3

  2. Optical discs use lasers. Those lasers are certain sizes. As the disc spins, it reads data. The laser has to be small enough to read the microscopic bits. On each disc, each bit has the same value. The  laser has to be small enough to read the bits. Blu-ray has a smaller laser than an HD-DVD, so each bit is smaller, and they can cram more on a Blu ray than HdDvd. No, HD-DVD does not work on the PS3, but there are some Blu-ray players that also have an HD-DVD laser. Blu-ray is the next format, it beat HD-DVD. Add dyfi to your PS3 friends list.

  3. Of course and HD-DVD works on a PS3. But a Blu Ray has a much better picture and clarity to every aspect on the screen. It just looks crisper, better, and nicer.

  4. HD-DVD was kind of a flop. They don't make movies on them anymore, only blu-ray. Blu-ray has much better quality.
