Question:

What is the difference between hotels and motels?

I have been wondering about this for a while.

Are there any differences or are they simply the names that they choose?

  6. well what ive always thought is that a hotel is more expensive and nicer and that a motel its cheaper and not as nice but i might be wrong

  7. A motel is the combination of motor and hotel and implies its proximity to roadways. Motels are limited in the facilities that they provide (they are not allowed to have a restaurant in most place), and they target people who drive by and need short term accommodations. Hotels are multifunctional, target guests who use more than one mode of transportation, and are more flexible in the duration of a stay. Hope this helps!

  10. Umm, hotels have hallways and elevators on the inside to help you to your room, but motels have stairs and sidewalks on the outside. And I'm not sure about Inns, but I guess they have both... I don't know.

  19. for me, in motels people go there for like a night and go on the other hand,   in hotels u stay there for days. motels are cheaper than hotels.

  20. A motel is a building in which stands no more than 3 stories hi, where a hotel's can be multiple stories hi, they have class, Hotels are often found in town or on the outskirts, where motels are alone highways and interstates, I need a live. lol Hope it helped
