  1. blood among animals is pretty much the same: oxygen coordinates with a heme. the difference among animal blood is antigen expression. antigens help animal bodies identify it's cells as self versus foreign.

    humans have four blood types, while there are eight blood types for horses, and over 13 types for dogs.
